Cancellation Policy

At Heritage Brickworks, we aim to be clear and fair in all our dealings. We understand that circumstances can change, and this policy outlines your rights and our procedures regarding the cancellation of scheduled works or surveys.
1. The 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (often referred to as Distance Selling Regulations), if you are a consumer who has booked our services online, over the phone, or away from our business premises, you have a legal right to cancel your contract within 14 days of agreeing to it without giving any reason.
2. Exceptions: Custom Materials & Reclaimed Stock
The 14-day cooling-off period does not apply in the following heritage-specific scenarios:
- Where goods are made to your bespoke specifications (e.g., specially mixed and coloured lime mortars, or bespoke gauged brickwork).
- Where specific reclaimed bricks or historically accurate materials have been specifically sourced, purchased, and delivered to site at your instruction.
If you cancel after these specific materials have been ordered or delivered, you will remain liable for the cost of those materials.
3. Cancelling After the Cooling-Off Period or When Work Has Commenced
If you request us to begin work during the 14-day cooling-off period and subsequently cancel, you must pay us for the services provided up until the time you inform us of your cancellation.
If you cancel a contract after the 14-day period has expired, or outside the scope of distance selling regulations, any deposit paid may be retained to cover administrative costs, scheduling losses, and any materials already purchased on your behalf.
4. Survey Cancellation
If you need to cancel or reschedule a site survey, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Repeated cancellations or failure to provide access without adequate notice may result in a call-out fee being applied.
5. How to Cancel
To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision by making a clear statement. You can do this by:

6. Refunds
If you are entitled to a refund following a cancellation, we will process the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel the contract. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
